The Street-Art artist Moose is coming to Aarhus, he will will be teaching at a workshop about Reverse Grafitti, where the participants get’s to decorate the old dirty wall’s of Mejlgade.
At 12 o’clock Moose will be speaking about his piece’s and about technique behind Reverse Graffiti, he will also share some knowledge on how to do it. When this is done we will start creating our own Reverse Graffiti piece’s.
If you attend at the workshop you will become acquaintance with the concept of Reverse Grafitti and the Street Artist Moose aka. Paul Curtis. Moose has been experimenting with alternative graffiti, and is a reverse graffiti pioneer.
Reverse Graffiti is when you paint on a wall by cleansing the dirt of the wall, creating a piece by making a contrast between the clean and dirty parts of the wall. Moose uses the stencil technique to create his piece’s. He uses a high pressure cleaning devise, while others might use soap and water, to clean their piece through.
There will also be a guided tour around in Aarhus, where you get to see the and sense the feeling of the street art in Aarhus, this tour will take 1 hour.
The day will end with coffee and cake at the Frontrunners
The Worshop is free and everyone can attend it.
From 10 o’clock there is also the possibility of participating in a seminar, where there will be discussions on what street art is and can be. This is also a place to become acquaintance with the different ways that street works in public spaces. The seminar will begin with presentation of the street art of Aarhus and the danish laws on the area, before Lone Kofoed from Culture and Aesthetics at Aarhus University. The Project:
During the spring of 2010, there will be three streetartworkshops each with a different focus. These workshops will be held the last saturday of March and April. The ambition behind this, is to create a streetart exhibition in the summer, where different artists will create a piece for the public space.
This Project is made in collaboration between British Council, Frontrunners, Nicolai Juhler, Kunsttur, Det Jyske Kunstakademi, Lone Kofoed, Culture and aesthetics Aarhus University
